Community Fund a FreeWheel for Regina Porter
"I was born with a hereditary disorder called Charcot-Marie-Tooth type 2a. I was put into a wheelchair after I had a hysterectomy in 2012. I was still walking prior to the surgery. When my Dr. tied off the blood vessels one came in-done. I was bleeding internally and almost died. Had to have a 2nd surgery in order to close off the bleeder. I ended up with my legs spasming for almost 2 days. This caused my legs to get over fatigued so much that my muscles were over used and I lost the ability to walk, this happened in 2012.
I want to be able to drive again. I used to drive everyday but when I ended up in the wheelchair I wasn’t able to drive because we did not and do not have a handicap accessible vehicle. Prior to 2012 I was a support group leader and I was the President of an organization called NPNC (National Peripheral Neuropathy Conference) for 3 years. I had to stop because of my health."
Regina will be participating in the LIMBitless Challenge 2018 at Table Rock. The FreeWheel will allow Regina to safely tackle the rough terrain of Table Rock with more ease.
We at The Steadfast Foundation want to help provide Regina a FreeWheel Wheelchair attachment, BUT we need your help! As a community let us all come together to spread the word and to raise the funds needed for Regina’s FreeWheel.
