Community Fund a FreeWheel for Spencer Odom
Spencer Odom is a 29 year old gentlemen living in Charles City, IA. Spencer has been a paraplegic since 2006 when he fell from a silo resulting in damage to his spinal cord at the level of T-12. The things that brings Spencer the most joy in his life are fishing and being outdoors. It helps him cope with stress and allows him to spend quality time with his brothers and fiancé doing something he loves.
Currently in his standard wheelchair he can only fish from off of a dock. Spencer's brothers visit other fishing spots that he is not able to access, but would be able to with the help of the FreeWheel Wheelchair Attachment. He is also confined to his home much of the winter. Spencer enjoys being outdoors in all types of weather. Spencer wants to be outdoors with his family and friends but is confined to concrete paths and sidewalks. The Freewheel Wheelchair Attachment would allow him to maneuver his wheelchair on grass, sand, snow, and other terrains allowing him to more fully engage in socialization, and go to back yard BBQ’s. The FreeWheel will also help Spencer in the professional field, allowing him access to more employment opportunities.
With your help The Steadfast Foundation was able to help provide Spencer with a FreeWheel Wheelchair Attachment!
